Taken at Dongbolizhan in early morning golden sunlight, the driver of 2-8-2 steam locomotive, JS8167, climbs to the footplate of the locomotive to commence the morning shift. 9 December 2015.
Blowing down is when a vast cloud of steam is blown out with force from the side of the locomotive to clear out sludge from the bottom of the boiler. It is common practice at Dongbolizhan yard where the JS Class locomotives prepare for the morning shift. 14 February 2017.
